Class V Head Teacher, Leave Replacement, Jan - May

Marymount School seeks an experienced and dynamic head teacher to lead a fifth grade homeroom in our Lower Middle School Division. Head teachers are responsible for building strong classroom communities in which all students feel welcome, known, and inspired to learn. Class V teachers plan as a team to differentiate instruction in student-centered lessons that develop students' academic habits, foundational knowledge, and skills in mathematics, language arts, and social studies. Ideal candidates enjoy building strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues, as they regularly communicate with families and administrators and collaborate with their grade level team and specialist teachers to plan and deliver Marymount’s curriculum. Experience with collaborative, project-based learning is a plus, and a willingness to embrace technology, as Marymount students use various technologies to support their learning, including 1:1 iPads and a FabLab. Experience with the Judith Hochman approach to expository writing and Singapore Math is a plus.
