Maintenance Supervisor

The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee all physical aspects of the plant including service of electrical and mechanical systems; maintenance of production equipment, physical plant, utilities, and grounds; and compliance with applicable policies and regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Hires and trains maintenance department staff.
  • Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of maintenance staff.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
  • Oversees, schedules and coordinates daily work assignments of maintenance, electrical, and mechanical operation workers.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates proper maintenance of all parts and areas of the facility including machinery and buildings.
  • Creates, schedules, implements, and manages a preventive maintenance program for production machinery and equipment.
  • Evaluates jobs in process and on completion to ensure products meet safety and work quality expectations.
  • Directs the maintenance and operations of various facility systems to ensure uninterrupted service. Covered systems may include electrical, refrigeration, water, steam, and compressed gas.
  • Conducts chemical analysis and maintenance as required for boiler, air wash-water, and similar systems.
  • Procures materials, supplies, and repair parts to maintain inventory as required.
  • Suggests, plans, and oversees equipment needs and acquisition to maximize production efficiency and return.
  • Oversees and plans the layout of electrical and mechanical equipment; recommends and implements modifications to facilities.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Assist in driving unplanned machine down-time to company standards
  • Support efforts to drive continuous improvement efforts and lean manufacturing techniques and 6S theories
  • Assist in meeting budget targets and limits and capital purchases are adhered to
  • Supervisor the maintenance staff and drive cross-training for each
  • Problem-solve and trouble shoot maintenance issues
  • Ability to lead and communicate effectively
  • Ability to use MRP systems
  • Ensures daily goals and metrics are met and sustained daily/weekly/quarterly/annually

Qualifications:

  • High School Degree plus ten years related experience (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically press and CNC machining and hydraulic and mechanical environments.
  • Preferable 5 years working in a Forging plant
  • Must possess analytical problem-solving techniques.
  • Exposure or ability to learn lean manufacturing techniques
  • Must be self-motivated and self-managed and possess strong organizational skills
