Qualifications:
- Valid current Michigan Teaching Certificate with ZS or ZN endorsement is preferred.
- Willingness to seek full certification may also be considered. (Must have BA/BS)
- Demonstrated organization, planning and classroom management skills.
- Experience working with special needs children.
- Specialized academic preparation
- Work history exhibiting outstanding work habits including work attendance and positive communications.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working with children with Autism.
- Training or willing to train in nonviolent crisis intervention (CPI).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Regular and reliable in-person attendance is an essential job function.
- Design and implement lessons plan for early childhood development.
- Develop, implement, and collect data regarding academic, social and behavior interventions.
- Collaborate with larger team to problem solve (including guardians, county consultants and outside service providers)
- Create and maintain accurate records.
- Other duties as assigned by the Principal and the Director of Special Education
