Job Description
Objective: Coaches instruct and work with campers to prepare them for competition. Coaches help campers to play their best individually or as a team in sports. They are experts on the rules, strategies, and techniques of their sports. Coaches must also know about sports equipment, physical fitness, and safety.
Reports to: Activities Coordinator
Game plan:
- Arrives on time for class (preferably 10 minutes prior to the scheduled class time) and stays after camp to answer any questions for members.
- Adheres to the company’s and the industry’s guidelines for safe and effective exercise.
- Adheres to the company’s rules and policies.
- Is responsible for finding substitutions. Also responsible for notifying the coordinator about all class substitutions that take place.
- Attends mandatory meetings and training sessions on a regular basis.
- Knows the company’s emergency policy and reports an incident to the club manager and Activities coordinator as soon as possible after the incident.
- Informs the coordinator of any equipment needs or malfunctions.
- Exemplifies a positive, fit, healthy image.
- Remember that he/she is a role model.
- Ensure a safe, positive, and fun environment for all campers.
- Provide on-site supervision during camp hours.
- Attend and participate in pre-camp orientation.
- Provide positive public relations with parents and campers.

- Work with campers to develop appropriate skill progression, drills, and games for all activities selected.

- Conducts sign in, roll call, and sign out with all campers assigned to your group each day for each camp session.
- Communicate openly with Camp Coordinator as needed or appropriate.
- Inspect activity spaces for hazards, report hazards, and adjust programs accordingly.
