Summary
Plans, initiates, coordinates, implements, and oversees clinical trials in the Oncology division of the Network Office of Research and Innovation. Coordinates care of research patients with multiple disease processes, in collaboration with a team of healthcare professionals, to ensure timely, high-quality care across the care continuum.Job Duties
- Plans, implements, and conducts approved clinical research trials by coordinating and managing the patient assessments, phlebotomy, drug administration, and monitoring of side effects according to protocol standards in a clinically safe and regulatory compliant manner involving research patients who have multiple disease processes to ensure timely, high quality care across the care continuum.
- Assists in maintaining drug and medical device accountability according to regulatory guidelines.
- Collects, records, and reports data for research studies as assigned and monitors visits with sponsors and other related agencies to evaluate the accuracy and quality of the collected data.
- Attends all site initiation visits to ensure familiarity of projects for cross-coverage purposes in order to actively support the success of research initiatives. Engages as a back-up coordinator for designated clinical trials.
- Assists with NORI/IRB submissions and maintenance of regulatory and legal documents; maintains required documentation for clinical trials.
- Establishes and maintains productive relationships with patients and family members, as well as sponsors and external contacts in order to optimize research outcomes.
- Contributes to the health care team's development of the patient's plan of care.
- Educates participants and staff in disease processes, therapies, and/or treatments being studied.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in nursing.
- Demonstrates the ability to initiate, accept, and adapt to change.

- 2 years of research experience.
- 2 years of direct clinical experience in acute care/health care setting.
- Ability to mentor other research staff members in the conduct of clinical research trials and regulatory compliance.
