A medical health clinical located nearHackensack, NJis looking for a strongPsychiatric Registered Nurse .

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care that fosters the well-being of our clients physical, psychological, and health and goals within the CPNJ outpatient programs. This includes nutrition, health promotion, including but not limited to, providing services incorporating cultural appropriateness. Other essential duties include ensuring the correct administration of medications, treatment results, and ongoing assessments, preparing care plans, and providing psycho-education to families of the clients.
  • Provides comprehensive, compassionate nursing care to meet patients' complex medical and psychosocial needs
  • When needed, provides ongoing face to face nursing assessments and planning in coordination with treatment team.
  • Manages all documentation required by regulatory standards.
  • Crisis intervention and counseling;
  • Administers and monitors medications as needed.
  • Coordinates care management across medical care, mental health care, and other specialty providers (including psychiatry).
  • Provides orientation training of new departmental staff using the nursing process for systematically assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating client care
  • Provides medication-related education to consumers and family members.
  • Encourages clients to participate in therapeutic activities and assists with self-care activities.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications/Experience /Education:

  • Current NJ RN License (degree from an accredited college or university).
  • Two years’ experience working within a behavioral health setting is preferred.
  • Experience working with adults with acute symptoms of mental illness.
  • Knowledge and experience of Universal Precautions, Emergency Medical Treatment/First Aid; CPR certification.
  • Must comply with continuing education as required for licensure.
  • Excellent teamwork skills and ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Possess a valid driver's license, and must be insurable under Agency's automobile insurance policy.
