Position Title:Special Education Teacher – Elementary

Qualifications Required:Michigan Teaching Certification. Must be Highly Qualified
- Valid Elementary Special Education Teaching Certificate
- Knowledge of content and pedagogy specific to ELA and Math
- Experience and knowledge of quality instruction and classroom management
- Proficient use of appropriate assessment data tools such as, but not limited to, M-STEP, Mi-Access, Star Reading, Star Math, DIBELS, and DRA2 to drive instructional planning, including differentiated instruction and intervention decisions
- Ability to work cooperatively with all stakeholders in developing Individualized Education Plans (IEP)
- Ability to facilitate an IEP team meeting
- Knowledge of EdPlan preferred
- Ability to work as a member of a professional educational team
- Ability to establish positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and community
