The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform.Duties DescriptionAs a Dietitian 2 you will be part of a multidisciplinary treatment team and will assist in the food and nutrition program operations including:
• Developing, planning, and approving diets and menus.
• Consulting with healthcare providers on individual diet therapy programs to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions.
• Identifying and recommending activities to improve and maintain individuals' nutritional health.
• Providing nutritional care instructions and information to individuals.
The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy.Minimum QualificationsCandidates from outside and within State Service may be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (NY HELPS) program as a Dietitian 2 if they have:
Current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or New York State Education Department (NYSED) certification in dietetics-nutrition and have completed a minimum of an additional 400 hours of supervised dietetics practice under the supervision of a RD.
OR
Candidates from within State service may be considered for transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
