Job Title:Benefits Specialist
Pay Rate:$23/hour-$24/hour
Hours:Full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Thursday from 7:45am-5pm and Friday 7:45am-12:15pm

About the Role:
You will be responsible for providing a wide variety of advanced customer service, administrative and tactical support for the benefits department.

- Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance, Short & Long Term Disability Insurance, Health and Flexible Spending Accounts, Retirement Plan, Paid Vacations and Holidays, Service Recognition Awards
- Closed every year between Christmas and New Years
What You’ll Do:
- Answer phones, emails and assist walk-in inquiries needing assistance with benefits administration
- Act as the liaison between employees and vendors/carriers
- Assemble new hire orientation packets and complete new hire benefits orientation and paperwork with employees
- Input and maintain data for benefit plan updates which includes open enrollment, employee benefit election enrollments and employee terminations
- Reconcile benefit invoices, unemployment compensation payment logs and data maintenance of benefits in the payroll system
- Assist with yearly benefits open enrollment for employees
- Provide support with retirement plans, Cobra, unemployment compensation, FMLA/STD claims and any leave of absences
- Promote Wellness initiative with Wellness Vendor, organize wellness activities such as flu shots, biometric screenings, and lunch and learning sessions.
- Serves as a back-up to the Human Resources Department in other administrative areas
Requirements:
- 2+ years of Administrative Assistant experience
- HR , benefits or health insurance knowledge is a plus
- AA degree in business, accounting, HR or related field is a preferred
- Knowledge of MS Word and Excel required
- Attention to detail and accuracy is key, excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
