QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Michigan Special Education Teacher Certification
- Appropriate Special Education Endorsement (SV) Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Experience with Special Education population preferred
- Must meet MCL 380.1531 & Administrative Rules Governing the Certification of MI Teachers
- START Training preferred

DUTIES:
- Adapt, accommodate, and modify the general education curricula, pedagogy, and learning environments for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Assess, teach, and modify instruction and curricula for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Implement trauma-informed/resiliency based strategies & interventions
- Align and adapt the student’s program with the general education curriculum
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized behavior management strategies and plans. Must prepare and implement behavior plans based upon functional behavioral assessments.
- Use a range of curriculum guides to assist with identifying functional goals.
- Employ current assessment instruments and approaches, intervention methodologies, strategies, and techniques that are appropriate for students with diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder linking assessment outcomes to curriculum planning.
- Complete records in a timely manner
- Communicate to all members of the school & community
- Meet the physical and mental demands of the teaching profession and the position
- Philosophy in accordance with Lincoln Park Public Schools
- Work collaboratively
- Follow requirements of special education supervisors
- Provide classroom instruction and be an instructional leader for meeting the needs of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Support Peer to Peer program
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers to provide LRE for students with Autism
