Summary
The DSV Road Branch Manager provides leadership, supports and trains associates on best business practices, and oversees the location’s operations. They participate in efforts to grow the business unit, while increasing the market presence of our Company as a premier logistics provider. The Branch Manager helps to build the division and location and interacts daily with the team and clients to help build relationships and search for new/additional freight business.
Essential Duties and Responsibility
- Supervises branch members and performs the day-to-day duties associated with being the Branch Manager.
- Manage the full Profit & Loss (P&L) for assigned business area, ensuring revenue and expense targets are met while maintaining operational efficiency.
- Monitors and drives the development and growth of the business program.
- Increases sales through development of new clients and existing clients.
- Trains operations employees in freight sales techniques, goal development and performance measurements with a focus on business growth
- Assists direct reports with development of existing employees.
- Develops and analyzes daily, weekly, and monthly reports for accuracy, trends, and areas needing sales development.
- Continuously searches for ways to improve operational processes, define structure and increase productivity.
- Monitors the performance of the members of each center under your supervision to ensure compliance to policies, procedures, service standards, and increased business growth.
- Acquires and applies professional/technical knowledge, skills, experience and judgment to accomplish results that contribute to the strategic business plans.
- Motivates and supports co-workers, integrates and promotes the Company Values into daily actions and interactions (Integrity, Innovation, Teamwork, Dedication and Respect).
- Manage 1-10 people; Operational Account Managers and Carrier Sales Representatives.
- Other duties and projects as assigned
- May include travel up to 25%
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in transportation brokerage, or third-party logistics field with comprehensive knowledge of LTL, Truck Load, and current trucking marketplace.
- 5 years’ experience in management or similar role.
- 3+ years' experience in drayage operations required
- College degree or experience in lieu of education.
Skills
- High PC proficiency Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, verbal)
- Comprehensive knowledge of LTL, Truck Load, the current trucking marketplace
- Highly developed organizational and people skills
- Good communication skills are essential
- Ability to build and maintain positive business relationships and function within a group dynamic
- Demonstrated ability to obtain an in-depth understanding of the diverse needs of each client and assume ownership of growing the business.
- Must have excellent customer service skills,
- Demonstrated ability to develop and prepare analytical reports
- Requires the ability to self-direct, work without supervision
- Balance multiple duties at once
- Possess a high attention to detail.

For this position, the expected base pay is: $104,500- $156,000 / Annual. Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, geographic location and other objective business considerations. This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus program.
