Provides quality food service in accordance with all state and federal regulations and meets the nutritional and individual needs of each patient. Assists in the menu selection, service, and delivery of food for the patient population served. Follows and maintains union policies and procedures throughout the scope of work.Job Duties
- Assists in preparation of supplies and setting up of tray-line area prior to each meal.
- Delivers food promptly and professionally maintains safe food handling and sanitation standards.
- Engage with patients in a friendly and professional manner while actively listening to their concerns
- Follows meal patterns and evaluates patient meal according to approved diet manual.
- Keeps work area clean and orderly.
- Knowledgeable about the food and drinks that is served and can handle various dietary requirements.
- Participates in the quality assurance, mealtime assessment, and environmental assessment.
- Protect confidential information based on HIPPA and other regulatory privacy laws
- Take orders for meals, print meal receipts, meal count, and submit to cook
- Work closely with all Registered Dieticians to anticipate patient needs.
- 1 year of experience in the Food Service Industry
- Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing, and documentation.
- Ability to interpret and adhere to union policies and procedures.
- Ability to read and understand instructions and diet order cards.
- Coordination and dexterity for preparing food and operating dietary equipment safely.
- Knowledge of methods and procedures for serving food, principles of sanitation, and principles of safe food handling.
Lift over 50 lbs. Push/pull up to 140 lbs. Carry 80 lbs. short distances. Frequent standing/walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing and reaching overhead.
