OVERVIEW

The Tennessee Medical Association seeks an experienced Assistant Director of Programs to manage physician leadership and education initiatives, including the Ingram Institute for Physician Leadership and grant-funded education programs. This management-level position oversees program operations, supervises staff, and collaborates with senior leadership on program development and fundraising. The ideal candidate brings strong project management skills, experience with educational programs, and a passion for physician leadership development.

Job Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Ingram Institute for Physician Leadership and multi-year grant-funded education programs
  • Supervise Program Operations Coordinator and guide program implementation
  • Oversee program budgets, logistics, recruitment, evaluation, and compliance reporting
  • Lead participant recruitment and develop strategies to strengthen program enrollment
  • Coordinate with marketing team on promotional campaigns and program visibility
  • Compile program evaluations, analyze data, and prepare reports for boards and grantors
  • Support fundraising efforts including donor engagement and alumni relations
  • Contribute to program design improvements and pilot initiative development
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 5 years progressive experience in program management, education, or related field
  • Experience supervising staff and managing teams
  • Proven ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously including budgets and deliverables
  • Strong communication skills and experience working with external stakeholders
  • Highly organized with excellent project management abilities
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Nonprofit or association experience preferred
