Position Summary:
The Workplace Readiness & Experience Coordinator is responsible for delivering Pre-ETS services to students at RISE Academy, as well as referrals for youth and young adults engaged with probation or CMO services. The Coordinator designs and facilitates interactive workshops, connects students to work-based learning opportunities, and guides career exploration and transition planning. This role collaborates closely with the Pre-ETS team, youth participants, families, DVRS, Camden City School District staff, and community employer partners to build self-advocacy skills and support students in preparing for postsecondary education, training, and employment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
? Plan and deliver workplace readiness training on topics such as resume building, interviewing, soft skills, time management, financial literacy, and stress management.
? Provide job exploration counseling using interest assessments and motivational interviewing; connect students to career pathways in healthcare, culinary arts, technology, childcare, and more.
? Coordinate work-based learning opportunities, including site visits, job-shadowing, and short-term placements with community partners.
? Support older students (ages 18-21) in obtaining industry-recognized credentials ? Collaborate with the Academic Support Specialist on postsecondary exploration, applications, and short-term training opportunities.
? Develop and maintain Individual Pre-Employment Plans (IEPs) with each student; document progress in AWARDS in compliance with DVRS and agency standards. ? Partner with families and school staff to reduce barriers (transportation, uniforms, documentation, interpretation, technology).
? Serve as the main liaison with employer and community partners to coordinate site visits, placements, and credential opportunities.
? Participate in case conferences, supervision, team meetings, and continuous quality improvement activities.
? Uphold all CFS policies, DVRS requirements, and confidentiality standards (FERPA/HIPAA).
? Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
? 2 years of experience providing workforce readiness, career exploration, or transition services to youth.
? Experience working with students with disabilities, mental and/or behavioral health concerns in underrepresented youth populations.
? Preferred: Experience with DVRS/Pre-ETS programming, IEP/504 processes, or school-based supports.
? Strong facilitation skills; ability to design and deliver engaging workshops for diverse learners.
? Knowledge of youth development, trauma-informed care, and workplace accommodations.
? Effective communication and relationship-building skills with students, families, schools, and employers.
? Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to coordinate multiple students, site visits, and employer partners.
? Proficiency in documentation and case management systems
? Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
? Flexible schedule to meet the demands of the program
? Ability to travel frequently between schools, community sites, and employer partners within Camden County.
