Laundry Coordinator

Essential Role: Oversees the day-to-day operation of the laundry room to assure clean linens are available and accessible for staff and guests use.

Main Responsibilities:

• Oversee all laundry room functions, including:

- Launder, sort, fold and organize all linens, rags, blankets, bedspreads.

- Organize and manage the maintenance and cleanliness of the conference laundry room, housekeeping closets, bathroom, guest coin-op laundry, and equipment.

- Stock housekeeping closets with clean linens before a towel change or changeover.

- Stock and maintain cleaning supplies and chemicals on laundry dock.

- Monitor the condition of linens, coordinating mending needs with manager, supervisor and volunteer coordinator.

- Monitor and maintain guest room drapes, curtains and bedspreads.

• Train and oversee the laundry assistant and/or other volunteer or part time personnel, delegating and scheduling functions.

• Keep the sundries current in all maid closets and help keep clean and neat.

• Adhere to all CBCC safety program rules and procedures, including the safe handling of contaminated laundry and training of other laundry personnel handling contaminated laundry.

• Assist the Department Evacuation Coordinator (DEC) in the event of a tsunami evacuation.

Secondary Responsibilities:

• Provide clean linens as required for Ecola Bible School: i.e., shower curtains as necessary.

• Assist with lock/unlock and on-call procedures as needed.

• Sign for and check in delivery of ordered stock.

• Assist staff isolation procedures by laundering linens and clothing of staff going in and out of isolation.

• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills Required:

• A Christian in agreement with CBCC’s statement of faith and with a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

• Responsible, organized self-starter who can work independently.

• Work well under pressure, with ability to prioritize.

• Ability to communicate and work well with others, including supervision.

• Flexibility and adaptability in supporting the needs of a conference/retreat ministry, with an emphasis on serving our guests as a member of the team

• Willing to work a varied schedule including split shifts, on-call, weekends, and holidays.

• Good basic math, reading and writing skills

• Physical fitness with ability to stand for long periods of time and to lift up to 50 lbs.
