Teacher of Lower School Learning Skills (Leave Replacement)
The Brearley School, an independent girls’ school serving over 770 students K-12, welcomes candidates for a full-time leave replacement position as a Teacher of Learning Skills in the Lower School from January to June.

Responsibilities include:
- teaching Literacy across five grades in the Lower School.
- providing intervention support across the division in literacy and math
- implementing an inclusive, anti-bias, anti-racist pedagogy
- participating in grade-level team planning meetings with Lower School colleagues
- contributing to the life of the school outside of the department
The ideal candidate will:
- hold a bachelor's degree in education or the humanities; an advanced degree in reading instruction or special education is preferred
- be certified in the Orton-Gillingham approach
- have experience in working with students with learning differences and in teaching English Language Arts at the elementary level
- have some experience with Singapore Math
- possess excellent oral and written communication skills
- be collegial and enjoy working collaboratively on the curriculum
- demonstrate cultural competency

Salary
In 2025-2026, the total salary for this six-month position ranges from $36,750 to $76,750 depending on years of full-time teaching experience.
