This position is responsible for oversight of the Hershey Country Club (HCC) swim program and aquatics department. The main responsibilities include coaching the HCC Swim Team through practices, interclub swim meets and one championship swim meet. Additionally, this position will oversee and develop aquatic programming to promote safe swim practices amongst members.
Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):
Prepare swim meet information, entries, and registrations, prepare for and execute all team practices, attend meets, direct and manage team code of conduct, enforce safety as the priority, provide encouragement and motivation, and manage award distribution.*
Communicate clearly and professionally with members, guests, supervisors, and coworkers. Respect the confidentiality of all members, volunteers, and staff at all times.*
Establish and maintain appropriate code of conduct and expectations for swimmers, assistant coaches, and parents.*
Daily supervision and oversight of HCC swim coaches.*
Provide evaluations, goals, and performance feedback to parents and swimmers.*
Develop, train staff, and oversee group and individual swim lessons.*
Coordinate with the HCC Recreation team to staff lessons according to need.*
Assist with HCC activities and special events, as needed, to ensure event success.
Enhance the Member experience by providing personalized attention and building positive relationships with and among members, staff, volunteers, and/or guests.
Perform other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
18 years of age or older at the date of applying
High school diploma or equivalent
2 years of experience preferred
Ability to obtain Ellis Lifeguard Certification, Swim Program Coordinator Certification
This position may provide care, supervision, guidance, or control of children or may have regular, ongoing contact with children that is integral to the responsibilities of the position. As a result, in accordance with Pennsylvania's Child Protective Services Law, newly hired candidates are required to obtain the following clearances: a report of criminal history from the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), Child Abuse History Clearance from the Department of Human Services (Child Abuse), and Fingerprint-based federal criminal history submitted through the Pennsylvania State Police or its authorized agent (FBI). Completed clearances are required to be submitted prior to starting employment.

Proficiency with HyTek swim software
Ability to teach stroke mechanics and age-appropriate dry land techniques
Excellent communication and organizational skills

Job Demands:

Ability to stand for long periods of time while on duty
