Unlike standard product management roles, this position zeroes in on Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) within e-commerce payments, requiring deep fintech expertise and familiarity with payment networks and developer SDKs, blending technical acumen with strategic product leadership in a fast-evolving financial technology landscape.
Berkeley Heights hosts a burgeoning fintech ecosystem where BNPL-focused product managers can advance into senior leadership or cross-functional innovation roles, leveraging proximity to NYC’s financial markets and Fiserv’s global footprint to expand expertise in payment solutions and influence emerging commerce technologies.
Mastery over payment processing intricacies, expertise in e-commerce regulations, and fluency in API and SDK management differentiate senior BNPL product managers. Strong communication bridging technical teams and business stakeholders is vital for driving product success in a competitive U.S. payments environment.
Certifications like Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) and fintech-specific courses from institutions such as the Electronic Transactions Association are valued locally. Familiarity with PCI DSS compliance and US e-commerce payment regulations enhances credibility in New Jersey’s competitive payment tech scene.
Navigating complex regulatory landscapes, ensuring secure online payment processing, and aligning multi-disciplinary teams across engineering, marketing, and developer relations pose distinct challenges. The role demands agility to balance innovation with risk management in a high-volume payment environment.
Fiserv’s innovation-driven culture encourages proactive ownership and collaboration, pushing senior product managers to lead cross-functional initiatives, advocate for merchant-centric solutions, and continuously refine payment products with a global market perspective, all within a supportive environment valuing diversity and inclusion.
The annual salary ranges from $100,000 to $165,600, influenced by experience, technical expertise in payments, and product launch successes. Additional incentives may include cash bonuses and equity, reflecting Fiserv’s performance and the strategic importance of the BNPL product portfolio.
The fintech sector in New Jersey is rapidly expanding, creating high demand for senior product managers skilled in payment technologies like BNPL. Candidates with strong technical backgrounds and cross-functional leadership experience are particularly sought after, but competition remains robust due to the area's proximity to NYC.
This role centers on digital payment innovation, requiring expertise in cloud-based commerce platforms, API ecosystems, and regulatory compliance, contrasting sharply with manufacturing or logistics product managers who focus on physical product workflows, supply chain efficiencies, and operational scalability.
Fiserv emphasizes interdisciplinary teamwork, expecting senior product managers to synchronize efforts between engineering, marketing, sales, and developer relations. This holistic approach ensures BNPL products are effectively designed, marketed, and supported, enhancing merchant and consumer experiences across global markets.
