MUST-HAVES

  • Active, valid

  • California RN license
  • Master of Nursing (MSN) or higherwith coursework in nursing, education, administration, OB, Pediatrics, or Psychiatry
  • At least 4 years of RN experienceproviding direct patient care
  • 1 year of recent clinical experiencewithin the last 5 years (clinical teaching counts)
  • Clinical expertise in

  • OB, Pediatrics, or OB-GYN
  • Clinically competent as defined by CCR Section 1420(c)

No previous teaching experience required — full faculty development training provided.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking qualified BSN Instructors to teach OB/PEDS courses and support the academic and clinical education of our nursing students. This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality instruction, guiding clinical experiences, and ensuring students meet learning outcomes. Ideal for experienced clinicians who want to expand into education with full training provided.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate in preparing, administering, and grading examinations

  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, clinical check-offs, and student progress

  • Participate in planning and assessment to support program quality

  • Orient and mentor new faculty in theory and clinical instruction

  • Apply adult learning principles and continuously improve teaching effectiveness

  • Incorporate online learning tools to enhance course content

  • Submit required reports and documentation to the Program Director

  • Stay current with technologies, teaching practices, and safety regulations

  • Participate in committees, faculty meetings, and program initiatives

  • Plan and supervise clinical experiences at assigned healthcare facilities

  • Evaluate student performance based on established clinical outcomes

  • Provide timely feedback on clinical performance

  • Ensure clinical sites meet health and safety requirements for student placement

  • Advise students and maintain availability through office hours and communication tools

QUALIFICATIONS

  • California RN license (active and unencumbered)

  • MSN or higher degree with appropriate coursework

  • 4 years direct patient care experience

  • 1 year recent clinical experience

  • Clinical expertise in OB, Pediatrics, or OB-GYN

  • Teaching experience not required; training provided
