Plans, directs, organizes, leads, and coordinates the day-to-day operation of the Respiratory Therapy Department, both inpatient and outpatient services (inpatient services include both adult, neonatal, and pediatric patients served; outpatient services include Pulmonary Function Testing).Job Duties
- Oversees goal setting, budget management, and results.
- Develops and implements systems that enable consistent evaluation of care provided.
- Manages budget in response to department requirements and monitors budget reports, justifying expenses.
- Assists in the development and implementation of policies/protocols/standards designed to facilitate improved care practices.
- Coordinates projects to meet established objectives and to operationalize LVHN vision.
- Develops goals for the department that are measurable and consistent with the mission, strategic plan, and quality improvement plans.
- Administers interviews; selects and hires all department personnel.
- Monitors outcomes of budgets, clinical interventions, and customer satisfaction; facilitates appropriate intervention.
- Participates in research and integrates appropriate research findings into delivery of patient care.
- Provides clinical, consultative, technical, or informational services as needed to staff, other disciplines, patients, and/or families.
- Reviews activities of department units and facilitates needs of customers are being met in a cost-effective manner.
- Bachelor’s Degree Health Care Administration, Science, Business, or related field. and
- Master’s Degree Health Care Administration, Science, Business, or related field
- 5 years Healthcare Administrative in an acute care environment.
- Understanding of Respiratory Therapist responsibilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- CRT - Certified Respiratory Therapist NBRC - State of Pennsylvania within 1 Year
- RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist NBRC - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
- 5 years Familiarity with the technical and managerial aspects of a Respiratory Therapy Department.
