Job Description:
The Clerkship & Residency Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Internal Medicine (IM) and Sub-Internship Clerkships, as well as the Internal Medicine Residency Program. This role ensures that both medical student and residency programs remain well organized, compliant with LCME standards and ACGME accreditation requirements, and effectively supported to foster a positive learning environment.
- Oversee and coordinate all aspects of the medical student training experience, including supervision, schedule management, and acting as liaison between residents, providers, and students.
- Develop and implement orientation materials and promotional resources to clearly communicate expectations for fourth-year student rotations.
- Monitor and evaluate student performance based on faculty and resident input; address and escalate behavioral or performance issues as needed.
- Ensure the IM Residency Program is well structured and compliant with accreditation requirements, working closely with the senior leadership team.
- Manage core residency program functions including recruitment, evaluations, the primary care track, and didactic programming.
- Collaborate with other coordinators on cross coverage needs, program data reporting, event planning, meeting preparation, and communications.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date program documentation and records in line with institutional and accreditation guidelines.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for students, residents, and faculty regarding clerkship and residency-related inquiries.
