Aquatic/Swim Coordinator
Objective: To schedule and staff aquatic programs in accordance with club and industry standards and to ensure that all necessary elements are in place so that scheduled activities are fulfilled. To develop an effective aquatic staff that is able to serve members in ways that support and enhance American Family fitness programs. To provide support as needed for aquatic staff and club management. To serve as a role model for aquatic instructors by sucessfully performing staff functions.

Job Description:
1. Know and adhere to company policies as outlined in the Company Policy Manual and the Aquatic Manual. Know club emergency response protocol and be prepared to act.
2. Maintain appropriate certifications pertaining to CPR, lifeguarding, swim instruction, and water fitness. Developing personal growth by attending seminars and conventions, expanding certifications, and through self-education in order to serve as a strong role model for instructors.
3. Perform the duties of aquatic staff at an exemplary level.
4. Provide the club, members, and instructors a regular monthly schedule for all aquatic activities in a timely manner.
5. Continuously update the Aquatic Book at the Front Desk so that all scheduled activities are kept current (water fitness/swim programming information) and coordinate with appropriate club staff so that programming is effectively communicated within the club.
6. Staff all scheduled activities and ensure that instructors are present, in place, and capable of fulfilling each scheduled activity. Assist instructors in finding subs as necessary.
7. Actively participate inthe development of qualifed aquatic staff in order to provide the highest level of individualized quality service to the club members.
8. Schedule staff for regular cleaning of pool tiles and skimmers and inform appropriate club staff of any hazards, equipment needs, malfunction, cleaning issues, or other concerns that need to be addressed in order for programming to be effective. Maintain storage areas, equipment, and basic administrative set-ups so that instructors have immediate access for class needs.
9. Interact with members and club staff to provide information about programs, pool concerns, and problems.
10. Update aquatic bulletin boards and member literature. Provide proper signs to promote upcoming events.
11. Participate in Department Meetings and assistin the coordination of club activities.
12. Provide effective feedback and support to aquatic staff on a regular basis, including assistance in class development, communication, staff meetings, and evaluations so that creative activity is enhances and customer service prorgram requirements are ensured.
13. Contribute material pertaining to their club for the newsletter.
14. Assist in staff development including orientation of new staff and ongoing instructor training.
15. Completes all administrative paperwork completely and on time. This includes monthly schedules, support documentaion for department payroll and class attendance, staff information, and swim roster/swim lesson updates. Also updates AMFAMFIT website with this information.
16. Communicate effectively with other department heads, managers, corporate staff, and Aquatic Director.
