We are recruiting for a Director to lead our inpatient clinical applications portfolio. This position oversees Epic modules such as ClinDoc, Orders, Stork, Beacon, and Willow Inpatient, supporting 13 hospitals, integrated solutions including Omnicell and Elsevier, and multiple inpatient service lines.
Summary
Directs and coordinates the assessment, plan, implementation, and evaluation of projects relating to the acquisition of hardware and software. Assigns Technology staff and coordinates with departmental personnel in a matrix relationship to various projects and directs their activities for the project. Confers with software/hardware vendors and other third parties regarding new products, problems, enhancements, and implementations. Assumes overall responsibility for all projects within group.Job Duties
- Lead a team of 30+ analysts and managers/architects focused on reliable operations and continuous optimization of clinical applications.
- Govern prioritization and delivery across inpatient service lines, including vendor management and cross-functional coordination.
- Drive strategic initiatives such as Epic optimization (including Azure migration and Honor Roll), Hanover Hills Hospital and Neighborhood Hospitals program work, ambient listening pilots for nursing, artificial intelligence solutions, and medication safety enhancements
- Develops, designs, implements functional/integration testing, and supports information systems within the group.
- Provides consulting and advanced technical leadership to assist others in solving complex technical problems.
- Identifies issues and potential problems based on coordination and interaction of all assigned projects.
- Supervises individual work schedules to ensure proper balance of tasks and project resources.
- Manages cost expenditures for projects within budgeted levels.
- Reviews personnel performance and makes recommendations for performance improvement and development strategies.
- Establishes business partnerships with hardware, software, and professional services vendors and consultants.
- Develops or modifies operational procedures and ensures compliance with established organizational procedures.
- Collaborates with leaders to define metrics and develops action plans and recommendations based on results.
- Maintains knowledge of relevant procedures for participative roles in disaster recovery.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science or
- Appropriate long term experience in Computer Science or related field
- 10 years Progressive experience in Information Technology (applications, networking, or system support) and
- 5 years Management experience
- Knowledge of a wide range of hardware and software platforms.
- Effective leadership skills to promote growth as individuals, teams, and as an organization.
- Strong project management skills and experience with large projects.
