A Youth Education Site Coordinator in Nashville must blend cultural sensitivity with ESL teaching strategies, understanding diverse refugee backgrounds from Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East. Strong communication, problem-solving, and the ability to foster inclusive learning environments are key to supporting multicultural youth effectively.
Unlike broader youth program managers, a Youth Education Site Coordinator focuses specifically on site-based instructional support, daily student engagement, and direct coordination with schools and community partners. This role requires hands-on involvement in academic and social-emotional learning tailored to refugee youth.
Daily tasks include preparing culturally responsive lesson plans, tracking student attendance and progress, managing behavior, coordinating volunteers, and liaising with schools. This hands-on coordination ensures educational success and smooth program operations in middle school and summer youth settings.
Nashville has a growing demand for education coordinators due to increasing refugee resettlement. However, competition remains moderate as nonprofit roles require specialized cultural and ESL experience. Local emphasis on community integration and diversity makes such positions uniquely tailored and sought after.
The salary range for this role in Nashville is approximately $40,000 to $42,000 annually. This aligns with regional nonprofit coordinator salaries but may be slightly lower than similar positions in larger metropolitan areas due to Nashville’s cost of living and nonprofit sector norms.
Center For Nonprofit Management emphasizes empowering multicultural youth through culturally responsive education. This philosophy shapes the coordinator’s duties by prioritizing inclusivity, community partnership, and tailored support for refugee students, fostering an environment of growth and integration.
This position uniquely combines instructional support with refugee empowerment in Nashville, requiring familiarity with diverse cultures and Tennessee education standards. The role also involves direct case management and school enrollment assistance, distinguishing it from typical youth program jobs.
Given Nashville’s traffic patterns, commuting during late afternoons can be manageable but may require strategic planning. Reliable transportation and knowledge of local routes are critical due to the role’s strict in-person schedule between 4pm and 6pm, ensuring timely arrival and program effectiveness.
Preferred candidates have at least one year of relevant experience, ideally with youth in educational or nonprofit settings, plus cultural competence with refugee populations. ESL teaching credentials and digital literacy, including Salesforce familiarity, enhance a candidate’s fit for this community-driven position.
