Faculty often transition to associate professorships, leadership roles in economics departments, or research positions in policy institutes. Building a diverse portfolio of publications and a reputation for effective teaching can also open doors to prestigious fellowships or administrative appointments.
Candidates are expected to have completed all Ph.D. requirements by the appointment date. While no extra certifications are mandated, demonstrated success in empirical economic research and diversity-focused teaching practices aligns with the Association’s values and enhances candidacy.
